Some stuff

Ok I've seen the new Shrek, and i kind of liked it, yet I think it's the worst of the saga...

As seen as I've got nothing else to say about the movie, i'll post some pics of the volcano of Stromboli, in Sicily, Italy, where I went a few years ago.
During the night(around 2/3 AM) I, a couple of friends and our guide, went on the volcano, even if it's not allowed, and, without any light but the moon, stop at 100m from the crater.
Stromboli is still an active volcano, and every 10/15 minutes erupts a powerful splash of lava and ashes, it's quite impressive even during the day, but in the darkness it's amazing! Also because we could go much nearer to the crater than during the day(we went up the same day, in the afternoon)...
Here's the pics!

Pompei

The URL of my Blog is "Pompei Ruins", therefore i'm going to tell you about those amazing ruins: Pompei is located in Italy, in Campania, near Naples, and its ruins are the remains of the ancient Roman City buried by the eruption of the volcano Vesuvium.
There are temples, thermae, gyms, theaters and forums all of them incredibly well preserved by the ashes, but the greatest thing is to walk around a city built more than 2000 years ago, and still looking the same as those times.
You can feel the magnificence of the Roman Empire, their ability in building, and you can see great similarities between them and us: all over the city(it's around 0,63 km2 wide) you will find several "Thermopolium", places where people went to buy beverages and food to consume on the spot...
You can take a look of Pompei with Google Street View, but obviously i suggest to see it:

This is the theatre

This is a view from an higher point

And that's a Thermopolium, it has holes on the counter which were used to keep stuff(food and drinks)

Conclusion: Go visit Pompei, it's AWESOME!

Climbing Part II

Sharing a great view from the top of a cliff in Italy, and my beloved helmet, which, luckily for me, has never been hit by falling rocks/never protected my skull from anything, but i use it nevertheless...

Recipe!

I'm in the mood of sharing another recipe!
It's "Pesto alle noci", pesto with walnuts:

First, it's a sauce for pasta, so you need to cook pasta too, i suggest short pasta, not spaghetti or similar.
Ingredients:
75grams of walnuts(already opened)
30grams of grated Parmigiano Reggiano
2 garlic cloves
20grams of basil (or celery)
40grams of ExtraVergin Olive Oil

You need to whip all the ingredient till you get a thick yet amalgamated paste, then cover the paste with a thin layer of oil and put in the fridge.
When you've cooked the pasta, add a couple of spoons of the boiling salted water a couple of minutes before pasta is cooked, and mix the paste.

Grate other Parmigiano Reggiano if you like!
Enjoy

Free Climbing

I'm a free climber, have you ever thought of try this sport?
It's amazing, even if I'm not really good, I enjoy a lot the feeling of putting yourself on trial against the mountain! Luckily, i can get to nice places to climb in a few hours with my car, and i've many of them near so I can always change... Only thing i hate, is the walking part before the real climbing starts...
